The Saskatoon Police Service General Investigation Unit has arrested a man following multiple armed robberies.
On March 16th, 2022, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a man entered a business in the 100 block of Ruth Street East, with a handgun. He pointed the gun at an employee and demanded cash and cigarettes, then fled the scene. After further investigation, officers were able to track the suspect to a residence in the 800 block of Hilliard Street East. A 19-year-old man was arrested without further incident. Police recovered cigarettes, cash, and an imitation handgun from the scene.
Evidence from the incident allowed investigators to connect the suspect to another armed robbery, that took place on December 8th, 2021, at the same location.
The 19-year-old man faces charges of Robbery (x2), Using an Imitation Firearm While Committing an Offense (x2), Pointing a Firearm (x2), Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (x2), and Disguise with Intent (x2).
