A 50 year old man is facing charges of assault and assaulting a peace officer following a report of a domestic disturbance this afternoon.

At approximately 1:30 p.m, April 26, 2022, Police received a call for service to a home at Confederation Place and Confederation Drive. It was reported that a man was assaulting a woman. Upon arrival the male began to resist being taken into custody by the officers. A conducted energy weapon was deployed, however it was ineffective. After a physical struggle, the officers were able to take him into custody.

The female victim suffered minor physical injuries.

The incident will be reviewed in accordance with policy.
