The Saskatoon Police Service has arrested a 40-year-old man, after a stolen vehicle investigation led to a lengthy search this morning.
On July 14, 2022, at around 9:30 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Fedoruk Road and Zary Road, in the Evergreen neighbourhood. Officers observed the vehicle to be unregistered and possibly stolen. While officers were conducting checks of the vehicle and the male driver, he fled on foot. The suspect fled through multiple backyards in the area, and the SPS Canine Unit began to track him. Approximately three hours later, the 40-year-old was found in the 600 block of Atton Crescent and arrested. The vehicle was confirmed to have been stolen.
The 40-year-old man is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000 and Obstructing a Police Officer.
