Male Arrested - Evade Police/Fentanyl Methamphetamine Seized

A 35 year old Saskatoon man is in custody following an evade police incident Sunday evening.

At approximately 10:50 p.m., August 28, 2022, Patrol officers spotted the driver of a Cadillac Escalade acting suspiciously while in the 300 block of 4th Avenue North. Officers attempted a traffic stop however the driver began to evade police. The vehicle proceeded eastbound where it caused a collision (no injuries) at Hospital Drive and College Drive. The suspect vehicle continued eastbound where officers successfully deployed a tire deflation device. As the Air Support Unit monitored from above, the vehicle turned around and travelled back into the downtown area before colliding with construction barricades at 26th Street East and 4th Avenue North. ASU was able to see the male driver flee the vehicle and enter a back yard in the 500 block of 4th Avenue North where he discarded a backpack. Patrol officers attended to the residence and located the backpack and the suspect, who was inside the home. A search of the man and backpack resulted in officers locating 57 grams of fentanyl, 83 grams of methamphetamine, 1.5 grams of cocaine, $950 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

The man is charged with; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of the Proceeds of Crime (cash), Possession of Cocaine, Evade Police, Driving while Prohibited and Breach of Conditions.
