A 33 year old male was arrested following an incident on October 4th, 2022 at approximately 9:05 p.m., which resulted in Police Deploying a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW).

Saskatoon Police Service Communications received a call of a male subject assaulting a female with what was believed to be an edged weapon in the 2300 block of 22nd Street West. Upon arrival, SPS members observed the male fleeing from the scene and when challenged by police, the male produced a firearm at which point a CEW was deployed successfully. The male was taken into custody without further incident. The male is facing multiple firearms related charges as well as several Criminal Code Warrants, Breach of Release Order, Assault with a Weapon, and Using a Firearm during the Commission of a Criminal Offence.

The incident will be reviewed in accordance with policy.
