At approximately 4:00 p.m. on November 24, 2022, Saskatoon Police attended to the 100 block of 7th St. E. to conduct a welfare check on a person who may be at the residence. Upon arrival, Police spoke with a male at the residence who had a warrant for his arrest. The male began to retreat into the residence as police attempted to arrest the individual. The male, now inside the residence, was holding onto an aggressive dog and was disregarding police directions as they attempted to arrest the individual. As a result, police deployed a conducted energy weapon and the male was taken into custody. Medavie Health Services assessed the male and was cleared shortly thereafter.

The incident will be reviewed in accordance with policy.
