A 22 year old Prince Albert man is facing a number of charges following an armed robbery that occurred over the weekend.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., November 26, 2022, police were called to a parking lot in the 1600 block of 33rd Street West. A 36 year old man appeared to have an injury and reported being robbed at gunpoint at his home on Howell Ave. The man told officers he had met another man through a dating app and invited that person to his home. The second male was armed with a rifle and threatened to harm the victim. The victim reported receiving a minor injury in a scuffle, during which the gun went off. The suspect fled with the man's vehicle, bank card, phone and the contents of the victim's gun safe.
A description of the vehicle was shared with the Air Support Unit which was able to spot the it and direct ground units. They located the suspect attempting to hide on Grey Place. He was taken into custody without incident and found to be in possession of MDMA in addition to the stolen items.
The 22 year old man is facing 17 charges including; Armed Robbery, Uttering Threats, Carry Concealed Weapons and Possession of MDMA.
The SPS asks the public to use caution when utilizing dating apps. If you are meeting someone; meet in a public place, meet at the location instead of accepting a ride from the person you are meeting, if you become uncomfortable, leave and, always trust your instincts.
