The Saskatoon Police Service Economic Crime Section has charged two men, following a fraud investigation spanning two years.

On March 1, 2021, police received the report of falsified banking documents that were submitted with several mortgage applications, at a Saskatoon banking institution. After further investigation, the documents were traced back to mortgages submitted by two Saskatoon realtors. A total of eight applications, with false documents, were discovered at one financial institution.

The SPS Economic Crime Section then executed search warrants in the 200 block of Palliser Court, 3400 block of McClocklin Road, and the 1100 block of 8th Street East. The search warrants resulted in the seizure of more fraudulent documents, connected to mortgage applications, at several other financial institutions.

On January 9th, 2023, a 34-year-old man was arrested after turning himself in at SPS Headquarters. He is charged with two counts of Fraud Over $5000.

On March 15, 2023, a 40-year-old man was also arrested at SPS Headquarters. He has been charged with a total of 17 counts of Fraud Over $5000.
