The Saskatoon Police Service is cautioning the public to be aware of coyotes while outdoors, after three were euthanized over the weekend.
On Saturday, March 18th, 2023, Patrol officers were called to the 600 block of Feheregyhazi Boulevard. The caller stated a coyote was located lying in an alley acting strange. Upon arrival, Police located the animal and confirmed it to be in distress. It was safely euthanized.
Later, at 12:15 p.m., SPS was called again for a sick coyote, this time, at the Sutherland Dog Park near Fedoruk Drive and Central Avenue. The responding officer confirmed it was also in distress and behaving abnormally. It was also safely euthanized.
Moments later, the officer was approached by an individual who stated another coyote was observed in the park acting strange. The third coyote was confirmed to be in distress by the officer but fled before it could be euthanized.
