Police have arrested a man and woman after a firearm was discharged in public yesterday.

On May 4, 2023 at around 8:00 a.m., police were called to the 400 block of Avenue H South for a report of a gunshot; two suspects were then seen leaving the area. Responding officers quickly located a man and woman matching the suspect descriptions and attempted to stop them. The duo did not stop for police and instead fled on foot into a nearby park; the short foot pursuit ended with the arrest of both suspects. A discarded sawed-off rifle was later located by police in the park.

As a result, a 25 year-old Saskatoon man and 18-year-old Saskatoon woman are facing several firearms-related charges in addition to resisting arrest and failing to comply with court-imposed conditions.
