One woman is deceased following a house fire early this morning.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., January 23, 2023, Patrol officers responded to reports of a house fire in the 2000 block of 37th Street West. Upon arrival, SPS members attempted to locate any residents but the home was engulfed in flames. Members of the Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD), extinguished the blaze and located a deceased 79-year-old woman inside. She is believed to be the lone occupant of the home.

Members of SPS and SFD are continuing to investigate. Foul play is not believed to be involved.
