Arrest - Drug Trafficking Investigation / Evade Police - Drugs, Gun, Cash Seized

Members of the Saskatoon Police Service Drug Unit have concluded investigation into the drug trafficking activities of a Toronto man.

On June 28, 2023, the SPS’ Drug and Tactical Support Units initiated enforcement action on a man suspected of trafficking drugs. Officers attempted to stop a vehicle being operated by the man in the 200 block of Willis Crescent; however, he did not stop for police and fled in a dangerous manner, striking a parked vehicle in the area of Cope Crescent before fleeing again on foot. He was quickly located and arrested without further incident in the 3000 block of Clarence Avenue South. A search warrant was subsequently executed at an address in the 200 block of Willis Crescent where police seized;

  • 2012 Ford Focus
  • 103.29 grams of cocaine
  • 5.06 grams of crack
  • 34.14 grams of buffing agent
  • .45 calibre handgun; loaded with additional ammunition
  • $17,835 CAD
  • Assorted paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking

As a result, the 24-year-old Toronto man is facing several charges relating to drug trafficking, weapons, hit and run, possession of the proceeds of crime, and failing to comply with court-imposed conditions.

Investigators believe it is possible the suspect may have struck other parked vehicles in his attempt to flee from police. Anyone whose vehicle was parked along Willis Crescent, Cornish Road, or Cope Crescent is encouraged to inspect it for signs of related damage and report any to the Saskatoon Police Service by calling 306-975-8300 and referencing 23-66445.
