A Saskatoon man is facing a number of weapons-related charges after he had reportedly brandished a knife.
At approximately 11:56 p.m., July 29th, 2023, Patrol officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Underhill Way for a report of a man threatening people with a knife. Upon arrival, Police located the non-compliant suspect, the man reached for a weapon while police were attempting arrest and as a result, police successfully deployed a conducted energy weapon and the man was taken into custody shortly thereafter. He was medically assessed and cleared by paramedics in Detention.
The 20-year-old man is charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Carry Concealed Weapon, and 2 counts of Assault with a Weapon. The deployment of the CEW will be reviewed in accordance with policy.
