Renewed Request For Public Assistance - Historical Homicide

After 41 years, the Saskatoon Police Service is renewing its request for public assistance in the 1982 homicide of Greg Rayfuse.

At approximately 1:00 a.m., September 5, 1982, 26-year-old Greg Rayfuse was found injured in the 500 block of Saskatchewan Crescent. The subsequent police investigation found that on September 4, 1982, Rayfuse had attended a house party in the 800 block of Avenue J South. He left the party to walk home and is believed to have been assaulted between 11:30 p.m., September 4th, and 12:30 a.m., September 5th. An autopsy determined he died of significant blunt force trauma to the head.

The investigation into this historical homicide remains open. No suspects have been arrested but investigators believe members of the public may have information helpful in solving the case.
