Saskatoon Police have charged four individuals with aggravated assault following two stabbing incidents last night.
At approximately 6:40 p.m., September 5, 2023, patrol officers responded to two reports of individuals suffering from stab wounds in two separate locations in the 200 block of Avenue R South. Both individuals, a 51-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man, were transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Four individuals matching suspect descriptions were located in the 100 block of Avenue V South by a canine unit. A physical altercation ensued with one of the suspects who refused to comply with the officer's directions. A second suspect attempted to interfere in the arrest by using a dog to threaten the police officer. Eventually all four suspects were taken into custody without further incident.
Three males, ages 12, 14, and 27, and a 17-year-old female, are each facing charges of Aggravated Assault (x2). The 12-year-old male is also charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon (bear spray), and Carrying Concealed Weapon. The 27-year-old man faces an additional charge of Obstruction.
