One woman has been arrested following a stabbing early yesterday morning.

At around 5:20 a.m. on September 21, 2023, police responded to a business in the 400 block 3rd Avenue North for a report of an injured person. Upon arrival, it was learned that a confrontation had occurred between two persons resulting in a stabbing. The victim, a 51-year-old woman, had left the scene and walked to the SPS HQ a short distance away seeking assistance; she was attended to by police before being transported to hospital by paramedics for further treatment of what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, also a 51-year-old woman, had remained at the business and was arrested without incident; she has been charged with aggravated assault. The stabbing is not believed to be random in nature.
