Two people are facing charges after a stolen vehicle was involved in a collision on Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 12:50 p.m., October 7, 2023, police responded to reports that a truck rear-ended a car in the 500 block of Avenue U South, after which occupants of the truck immediately fled the scene on foot.

A short distance away, police located a male matching a suspect description and while taking him into custody, found him to be in possession of brass knuckles. Later, a second man re-attended to the scene and was also taken into custody.

Further investigation found the truck had been reported stolen.

A 21-year-old man is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of Weapon, and breach of court-imposed conditions. An 18-year-old man is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000.
