One man has been arrested after assaulting four people; including two police officers.

At around 9:20 p.m. on October 12, 2023, police were attending to an unrelated matter on Avenue Y South when they heard a commotion nearby. Upon arrival to the 2400 block of 22nd Street West, officers found two employees of an establishment who had been bear sprayed by a man they’d refused sale to. The suspect had remained in the area but fled immediately after seeing police. During the brief foot pursuit, the suspect discharged a can of bear spray in the direction of two Constables; affecting one. He was subsequently arrested with the assistance of additional officers.

As a result, the 24-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with carrying a weapon dangerous to public peace, assaulting a police officer with a weapon (x2), and assault with a weapon (x2).
