A 24 year old male is in custody this morning following an incident that resulted in Police deploying a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW).

At 3:45 AM, on February 11, 2023, Police were called to a residence in the 1200 block of Avenue F North for a male in a vulnerable state barricaded with a knife. When Police arrived the male was armed with a knife and was threatening to harm himself. When officers were unable to de-escalate the situation verbally, a CEW was deployed and the male was taken into custody.

The male was assessed at the scene by Medavie Health Services and subsequently transported to detention.

The incident will be reviewed in accordance with Saskatoon Police Service policy.
