One man was arrested following a collision last night.

At approximately 11:00 p.m. on December 13, 2023, police were called to the area of Idylwyld Drive South and Taylor Street East for a report of a single-vehicle collision. As officers were responding, witnesses reported seeing a person flee from the damaged vehicle on foot. Members of the Air Support Unit quickly located the fleeing driver and directed officers on the ground to their location. Continued investigation found that the 30-year-old Lloydminster, SK man was displaying signs consistent with impairment. He was placed under arrest before being transported to hospital by paramedics where a blood demand was made; his injuries were believed to be non-life-threatening.

Following a refusal to provide a sample of his blood, he has been charged with impaired driving and refusing to comply with a demand.
