One man was arrested following a failed attempt to outrun the Air Support Unit yesterday morning.

On February 21, 2023 at around 3:30 a.m., police observed a vehicle violate a traffic law in the area of Avenue E North and 29th Street West. A traffic stop was attempted; however, the vehicle immediately accelerated away at a high rate of speed. With the vehicle continuing to be driven dangerously, officers on the ground disengaged from the evade police incident while those in the air took over monitoring its movements. Members of the Air Support Unit tracked the vehicle to the 1800 block of 2nd Avenue North where the driver was attempting to hide from police; he was taken into custody without further incident.

As a result, the 35-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle being pursued by police.
