The Saskatoon Police Service is being recognized as one of Saskatchewan’s top employers for the 12th year.
There are several factors that go into the competition; physical workplace; work atmosphere and social; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.
In late 2023 SPS was approved for five new Alternative Response Officers (ARO) bringing the total number to 15. The ARO program, sees members facilitate outreach and referral services for vulnerable people in our community, while assisting regular Patrol and Traffic members.
“As a progressive work place, we prioritize the physical and mental well-being of all our employees,” says Police Chief Dave Haye. “With nearly 750 employees, we strive to be reflective of our community and maintain the support and trust of those we serve”.
Top Employer contenders are closely analyzed in comparison to other Saskatchewan organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs. Once again, this now makes it 12 years the SPS has been recognized in this annual competition.
