At approximately 4:00 p.m. on April 8, 2024 police responded to reports of an altercation on the sidewalk near 21st Street East and 2nd Avenue South.

Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old male suffering from multiple stab wounds; he was transported to the Royal University Hospital and is in stable condition.

After further investigation, officers were able to obtain video evidence and identify the suspect. Members of the Bike Patrol located and arrested the suspect later in the evening.

The victim and suspect were not known to each other.

As a result, a 24-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault and breaching his court ordered conditions.
