Two Saskatoon men have been charged with assault in connection to separate incidents in the 200 Block of 1st Avenue South on Monday.

On April 29, 2024, at approximately 7:00 a.m. police responded to a weapons call in the 200 Block of 1st Avenue South.

While on route to the call, officers received an update that a female had been hit with a metal pipe. Upon arrival, police were able to obtain video footage and identify the suspect; officers were then able to locate and arrest the suspect a short time later.

As a result, a 42-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with assault with a weapon, and failure to comply with court ordered conditions.

On April 29 at approximately 5:30 p.m. police responded to a call for an intoxicated person in the 200 Block of 1st Avenue South.

Upon arrival, officers found security guards already had the suspect in custody; after further investigation officers learned the suspect had assaulted one of the security guards.

As a result, a 55-year-old Saskatoon man was arrested and charged with assault.
