Members of the Saskatoon Crime Reduction Team have concluded investigation into a drug trafficking investigation with the arrest of three persons followed by the execution of a search warrant.
On May 23, 2024, the Saskatoon Crime Reduction Team, with assistance from the Tactical Support Unit, took enforcement action on a man believed to be trafficking narcotics; he was arrested in the area of Township Road 362A and Valley Road along with a female. A search warrant was subsequently executed at an address in the 100 block of Idylwyld Place where the following evidentiary seizures were made;
- 111 grams powdered cocaine
- 100 grams of crystal methamphetamine
- 62.42 grams of fentanyl (red/blue/green)/carfentanyl (brown)
- 9 grams of psilocybin
- ¼ bottle of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB)
- Assorted prescription pills (hydromorphone)
- Illegal cigarettes
- Various weapons
- $2,365.83 CAD
- 2008 GMC Acadia
- Assorted paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking
As a result, the 45-year-old man has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (x5), possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000, various weapons offences, and breach of court-ordered conditions. The 38-year-old woman was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (x2), possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000, and various weapons offences. A second female, age 37, identified to be involved has also been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (x2) and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
