One man was seriously injured after an aggravated assault on Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 1 p.m., on January 27, 2024, police were called to an address in the 200 block of Vancouver Avenue North for a report of an injured person. Officers arrived to find a 48-year-old man suffering from stab wounds, he was transported to hospital by Medavie Health Services. Continued investigation found that an altercation had occurred inside the residence, leading to the victim being stabbed. The suspect then fled the scene prior to police arrival. At this time, the victim is believed to have serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Members of the SPS Serious Assault Unit are continuing to investigate.
