Homicide - 800 Block 22nd Street West

The Saskatoon Police Service is continuing to investigate a homicide that occurred in the early morning hours of June 3, 2024.

Investigators with the Major Crime Section are requesting public assistance from anyone living or working in the area within the perimeter of 22nd Street West, 18th Street West, Avenue H South, and Avenue J South. Residents and business owners within this area are asked to thoroughly inspect their property for a knife that is believed to have been discarded following the homicide.

Two men have been charged in relation to Saskatoon’s 10th homicide of 2024.

At around 3:00 a.m. on June 3, 2024, police responded to the 800 block of 22nd Street West for a report of an injured person. Officers arrived to find the victim suffering from life-threatening injuries; he was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Following an autopsy, 29-year-old Glen Lennie was confirmed to be the victim of homicide.

Two men, both age 29, have been charged in relation to the homicide; one of the men is charged with second-degree murder and the other has been charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

Both men will appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court this morning, June 4, 2024.

Saskatoon Police are investigating the city's 10th homicide.

Shortly after 3:00 a.m., June 3rd, 2024, police received a call of a person injured in the 800 block of 22nd Street West.

Officers arrived, and found a 29-year-old male who had been stabbed. The male was transported to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Members of the Forensics Identification and Major Crime Sections are continuing to investigate.
