One man is recovering following an assault that occurred early Saturday morning.

Around 5:20 a.m., June 1st, 2024, police received a call of an assault in progress at a residence in the 300 block of Avenue T South.

Upon arrival officers observed a 31-year-old man assaulting a 59-year-old man. Further investigations found that the 59-year-old man had been struck with a coffee pot.

The 31-year-old man has since been charged with assault with a weapon.
