On June 21, 2024 at around 12:30 p.m. police were called to the 1000 block of 20th Street West for reports of a disturbance. Further updates stated a man was threatening the lives of staff.

Upon arrival, officers located the suspect and during an attempt to speak with him, he began fighting with police. The suspect threatened to use the officers conducted energy weapon against them before grabbing a hold of the officers carbine magazine. The suspect was arrested but continued to resist officers while being arrested. While in the back of the police car, the suspect damaged the vehicle by repeatedly kicking it.

As a result, a 27-year-old man is facing charges relating to assaulting a peace officer, attempting to take a weapon from police, and mischief over $5000.
