One woman was arrested following a high-risk traffic stop on a stolen vehicle on Saturday.
On July 27, 2024 at approximately 12:40 p.m. police observed a vehicle that had been stolen driving near 22nd Street West and Confederation Drive. The vehicle was reported stolen earlier in the day and was believed to have a loaded firearm inside.
As the vehicle pulled into a parking lot, officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop; the driver was then arrested without further incident. Upon further investigation, a firearm was located in the back of the vehicle; however, it is believed that none of the occupants were aware there was a firearm inside.
As a result, a 28-year-old woman is facing charges in relation to taking a motor vehicle without owner consent.
