One woman is facing weapons charges after being found in possession of a knife Monday afternoon.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on August 12, 2024 police were called to the 300 block of 23rd Street East for a report of an assault in progress.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who told officers he was assaulted with a knife and baton. Shortly after, officers detained a woman for a weapons investigation. Upon search of her person, a foldable knife was located inside her purse. She was also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant. The woman was arrested without further incident.

As a result, a 44-year-old woman is facing charges relating to possession of a weapon, concealing a weapon, and failure to comply with court ordered conditions. Her warrant was also executed upon her arrest.
