One youth male is facing multiple charges following a robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly before 3 p.m. on August 13, 2024, police received a report of a robbery in progress at a store in the 2900 block of 8th Street East. Further information provided stated two youth brandished a knife during the robbery.

Arriving officers quickly located and arrested one of the youths and placed him under arrest. A search of his person located a prohibited knife along with alcohol believed to from the store.

Police searched the area for the second suspect; however, did not locate him. A passerby informed officers that the second suspect dropped a backpack; police located the backpack and found items inside believed to be from the store.

As a result, a 13-year-old male has been charged with robbery and possessing a prohibited weapon. The youth was also arrested on outstanding warrants and he made his first appearance in court earlier this morning.

Police are continuing to investigate.
