A weekend altercation that resulted in a man being transported to hospital with stab wounds is under investigation.

Shortly before 3:00 a.m., February 2, 2024, patrol officers responded to a stabbing outside a restaurant in the 2300 block of Preston Avenue. Further investigation indicated that a man had been approached by two individuals who had exited a nearby vehicle and a physical altercation ensued. The 26-year-old male victim sustained several stab wounds as a result and was transported to hospital with serious injuries; he is believed to be in stable condition.

The file remains under investigation by the SPS Serious Assault Unit.
