One man was arrested last Thursday in relation to a drug investigation.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. on October 17, 2024, investigators with the SPS Guns & Gangs Unit, with assistance from Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and Tactical Support Unit (TSU), conducted enforcement action as part of a drug investigation. A 27-year-old male was taken into custody in the 100 block of Betts Avenue as a result. He was treated for injuries consistent with a dog bite and transported to SPS Detention where he was held for court.
Following the arrest, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 100 block of Molland Lane and on a vehicle resulting in the following evidentiary seizures;
- $26,160 CAD
- Approximately one kilogram of cocaine in a vacuum sealed package
- Drug packaging materials
- Mixing equipment and materials
- Vacuum sealer
- Multiple cell phones
The male has been charged with being in possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance (cocaine), and being in possession of the proceeds of crime over $5000.
