One woman is facing a number of charges following an evade-police incident, Friday night.
At 10:00 p.m., June 6, 2025, Patrol officers were dispatched to an erratic driver near Idylwyld Drive North and Marquis Drive. The suspect vehicle was located at the intersection of Idylwyld Drive North and 33rd Street West. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled at a high rate of speed. Members of the Air Support Unit (ASU) monitored the vehicle, safely guiding ground units to its’ location. A tire deflation device was deployed and the vehicle came to a stop in the parking lot of a shopping centre in the 1700 block of Preston Avenue North. Two women exited the vehicle and began fleeing on foot, one of which was quickly apprehended. Two individuals were arrested from the vehicle, including a 25-year-old man with outstanding warrants. The fleeing driver was taken into custody with the assistance of a Police Service Dog (PSD). She was provided medical treatment on-scene, prior to being transported to hospital. She was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant. An imitation firearm was located inside the vehicle.
A 34-year-old woman is charged with Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, Impaired Driving and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon.
