A man is facing charges following the seizure of a sawed-off rifle and bear spray from a traffic stop early this morning.

At approximately 2:15 a.m., April 29, 2026, patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of 23rd Street West and Avenue O North. While speaking with the driver, responding officers observed a can of bear spray in the vehicle and initiated a weapons investigation where they subsequently located a sawed-off rifle.

The 34-year-old male faces charges of Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Careless Use of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession in a Motor Vehicle, and Prohibited Possession of a Firearm.
