Arrest - Evade Police - Avenue P South And 20th Street West

Saskatoon Police have charged a 33-year-old man with multiple offences after an evade police incident that occurred during the early morning hours on Saturday.

At around 4:10 a.m. on May 2, 2026 a member of the SPS Canine Unit observed two vehicles travelling at a high rate of speed on Avenue P South approaching 20th Street West. Shortly after, both vehicles pulled into a parking lot in the 1700 block of 20th Street West where the officer attempted a traffic stop; however, an occupant of one of the vehicles got in the driver’s seat and fled at a high rate of speed. It was later located unoccupied in the 200 block of Avenue J South.

Shortly after, a male who matched the description of the driver of the vehicle exited a residence but failed to comply with police commands. As officers approached, the suspect began to flee on foot and a Police Service Dog was deployed and made contact with the suspect. The suspect was arrested without further incident and paramedics responded to treat the man on scene for injuries consistent with a dog bite.

As a result, the 33-year-old man has been charged with evading police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He was also arrested on outstanding warrants out of the Prince Albert Police Service.
