One man was arrested following a report of a stolen vehicle yesterday.
At around 1:00 p.m. on May 7, 2026, police received a report of a vehicle that had been stolen from the area of 33rd Street West and Avenue H North. The stolen vehicle was reported to have been observed colliding with three other vehicles while driving in the area. Responding officers located the vehicle at 33rd Street West and Avenue B North where a traffic stop was attempted; the vehicle did not stop for police and evaded at a high rate of speed. Police immediately disengaged from the evade police incident while maintaining visual contact with the vehicle until it was observed entering a parking lot in the 3800 block of Idylwyld Drive North where the driver was arrested without further incident; he was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant. Further investigation found that the suspect had also stolen several items from the victims.
As a result, a 38-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public, evading police, failure to comply with a demand, impaired driving, theft under $5000, hit and run (x3), and failure to comply with court-imposed conditions.
