Saskatoon Police patrol members are investigating a complaint regarding damage to property on the weekend.

At approximately 10:00 a.m., May 16, 2026, a man was witnessed striking a gas line with an axe, outside a church in the 3400 block of Fairlight Drive. When officers arrived at the scene the man had fled. Fortunately attempts to sever the line were not successful and no one was injured.

The male is described as 25-35 years of age with a dark goatee. He was wearing a black jacket with a hood, grey sweatpants and black running shoes with white socks.

Members of the SPS Hate Crime Unit are assisting due to the fact the incident occurred at a religious gathering place.
