A man is facing charges after deploying bear spray inside a mall on Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., May 16, 2026, police responded after bear spray was deployed inside a mall in the 200 block of 1st Avenue South. Police located two individuals matching suspect descriptions, and observed one to be concealing a can of bear spray in his pocket. The 24-year-old man attempted to flee but was quickly arrested. He is charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Obstruction.
