Police are investigating after bear spray was discharged into a residence early this morning.
At around 3:40 a.m. on May 20. 2026, police were called to the 300 block of Avenue Q South for a report of an unknown problem. Upon arrival, it was learned that a residence had been bear sprayed and the suspects had fled. Members of the Air Support Unit quickly observed two suspects in the 400 block of Avenue R South and relayed their location to officers on the ground; they were located and arrested without incident. Further investigation by the ASU found that the suspects had discarded a bag in the 300 block of Avenue R South; upon retrieving it, police found a sawed-off shotgun and multiple rounds of ammunition.
As a result, a 25-year-old man and 28-year-old woman will be facing multiple charges in relation; members of Patrol are continuing to investigate.
