RELEASE & WAIVER
When you begin filling out the Saskatoon Police Service (“SPS”) Security Camera Registry (“Registry”) Form, you will first be asked to provide information about yourself or business. Then you will be asked to provide information about the security camera(s) you are registering.
Before registering you must carefully read the terms of use below. By filling out the Registry Form you agree that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these terms of use.
You understand that providing footage to the SPS from your security camera(s) is voluntary and your video footage may be utilized for investigating criminal activity and as evidence during a criminal proceeding. By registering with the Registry, you are not an agent or employee of the City of Saskatoon and/or the SPS, nor will compensation be provided for your video footage. All footage provided must be obtained with the direct assistance of the security camera(s) owner.
Through this form, the SPS will collect information that can identify you. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, date of birth, e-mail address, mailing address and other similar information ("Personal Data"). The SPS will use the Personal Data provided to respond to requests you make of us and/or in contacting you if SPS believes you may have video footage that is applicable to an investigation. From time to time, we may refer to the Personal Data to better understand how we can improve our services in relation to you.The collection, use and disclosure of the provided information, will be protected by
The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
You agree to the use of the provided Personal Data by the SPS or, if required, other police agencies and/or agencies assisting the SPS. It is your responsibility to renew your participation in the Registry every ten (10) years and ensure the information provided is current and valid. If your information or your security camera(s) information changes, please notify the SPS via writing at security.cameras@police.saskatoon.sk.ca.
You release, waive and forever discharge the City of Saskatoon, the Saskatoon Board of Police Commissioners and the Saskatoon Police Service and its employees, agents and assigns, as well as other law enforcement bodies and/or agencies assisting the Saskatoon Police Service from all claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, actions, causes of actions, whether in law or equity, resulting or alleged to directly or indirectly result from your use or involvement in the Registry.
By proceeding to register your security cameras with the Registry, you agree to be bound by the above terms. You also confirm and agree that you:
- are the age of majority;
- are either the owner of the security camera(s) being registered or are an employee or agent of the owner and have the authority to release video to the Saskatoon Police Service; and
- have the authority to provide the Personal Data provided; and
- consent to the collection, use and disclosure of the Personal Data, where required.
