Police Out-of-Scope

Duties:

  1. Performs a variety of confidential administrative human resources duties, including responding to staff requests by researching and retrieving information and files.
  2. Assists with processing documentation for onboarding civilian staff, contractors and volunteers. This includes conducting security clearances in the Records Management System (RMS), reference checks, screening applications and posting job advertisements.
  3. Updates and maintains data entry in SAP/Success Factors for all staff. Responds to inquiries as required.
  4. Maintains the organizational chart, staffing reconciliation, seniority and platoon lists and employment statistics for police and civilian staff.
  5. Creates and maintains various databases related to workforce planning and employee recognition.
  6. Responds to a variety of employment inquiries from potential applicants, current applicants and external agencies.
  7. Assists with the Disability Management process by receiving and distributing WCB applications, ensures proper documentation is maintained for the disability file, and creates and maintains necessary reporting.
  8. Assists in processing applications for preferred positions, promotional examinations, special teams, and other HR related processes.
  9. Attends and participates in various committees including preparing the agenda and transcribing meeting minutes.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a recognized, two-year, post-secondary human resources program.
  • Two to four years’ experience in human resources.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of principles and concepts of human resources management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with police staff, civilian staff, police executive, union representatives, and government officials
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative team-based environment, set priorities and organize own workload in a multi-task environment.
  • Ability to successfully pass the Saskatoon Police Service security check process.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Skill in operation of a computer and use of Microsoft Office applications and SAP software.

Salary:

$73,673.76 to $86,566.56 per annum (2026 rates)
