Saskatoon Police are investigating the armed robbery of a taxi driver early this morning.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., July 11, 2019, Patrol officers responded to the 1000 block of Matheson Drive after a taxi driver was robbed of his wallet and phone by his fare. The suspect was reported to have brandished a small handgun and then fled on foot. A canine track was undertaken however did not yield an apprehension or arrest.

The suspect is described as a male in his 20's, approximately 6' in height. He was last seen wearing a grey hoodie and yellow ball cap.

The driver of the cab was not injured.
