The Saskatoon Police Service Drug Unit has completed an investigation into crystal methamphetamine and GHB trafficking.

At approximately 6:45 p.m., on July 10, 2019, a traffic stop was initiated by members of the Tactical Support Unit and Patrol near 22nd Street West and Whitney Avenue. Two males were taken into custody without incident.

Investigators then executed multiple search warrants at a motel in the 2000 block of Ave B North.

Five additional persons were taken into custody. Two were later released without charges.

Investigators seized a total of 154.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 4 litres of GHB, a loaded 12 Gauge short barrelled shotgun with additional ammunition, 6 cell phones and over $11,000 in cash.

The five accused individuals are facing a variety of charges relating to drug trafficking, proceeds of crime and firearms offences.
