On July 14, 2019 at 12:21 p.m., the Saskatoon Police Service began to receive reports of a person floating in the South Saskatchewan River in the vicinity of the Circle Drive South/Gordie Howe Bridge.

Police, assisted by members of the Saskatoon Fire Department, moved into the area to search.

Citizens who were already on the River in their personal watercraft, located the 27 year old male and brought him to shore. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

There is no indication of foul play. The investigation is now under the jurisdiction of the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
