The Saskatoon Police Service Traffic Unit is reminding motorists that this coming weekend is the annual “ROCK 102 Show and Shine weekend”. The show and shine portion of this event will be held on Sunday, August 18th, and there will be some traffic restrictions in place in the downtown core for most of the day as a result.

Typically, traffic and pedestrian volumes increase on 8th Street during the evening hours over this particular weekend and motorists using 8th Street are urged to be patient and cautious.

It is important to note that the activities that take place on 8th Street are not part of any sanctioned event and that all traffic laws and regulations will continue to be enforced.

Police will be maintaining a high profile presence on 8th Street over the weekend in order to ensure traffic and pedestrian safety. In some cases, road restrictions may be put into place in order to facilitate the flow of traffic.
