Evade Police/Firearm - 700 Block Circle Dr.

Saskatoon Police are searching for a man after he refused to stop for officers last night.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., August 19, 2019, Patrol officers were dispatched to a parking lot in the 700 block of Circle Drive for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, Police located the suspect vehicle; a grey/silver 2010 Chevrolet Impala, covered in dried mud. Officers noted that the car’s engine was on and the windows were down. When they approached the vehicle, they observed a man slumped over the steering wheel with a sawed-off rifle next to him. Officers gave commands to the male suspect, but he began acting in an aggressive manner, and fled the location driving erratically. Police found that the licence plate on the car was stolen. Officers attempted to deploy tire deflation devices, but the suspect continued driving evasively, leaving the roadway numerous times. Taking into account that the Air Support Unit (ASU) was not flying, and that traffic was heavy in rush-hour, Police did not pursue the vehicle.

The male suspect is described as being 25-28 years old, heavy-set with a stocky build. He has tanned skin with thin facial hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing blue jeans, a long-sleeved coat with a dark-coloured hat.

Anyone who may be able to help identify and/or locate this man is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
