Saskatoon Police are searching for a suspect(s) believed to be responsible for assaulting a woman last night.

At approximately 11:00 p.m., August 19, 2019, Patrol officers were dispatched to a home in the 800 block of Sauer Lane for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, Police located a 22 year old female victim. She was suffering from the effects of bear spray and was washing her eyes out with the help of Medavie Health Services. The victim reported to Police that she was walking home from a nearby bus stop, when she was approached from behind by possibly two people. She said a suspect, possibly female, said something before deploying bear spray in the victim’s face. The suspect(s) then attempted to steal her backpack. The victim held on to her bag and was struck in the head by a suspect before fleeing to safety.

The possible female suspect is described as having her face covered with only her eyes exposed. No further suspect descriptions are available. The suspect(s) and victim are not believed to be known to each other.
