A 12 year old male is in custody following an incident of assault.

At approximately 8:17 p.m., on August 20, 2019, Patrol Officers responded to a group of individuals fighting near Ave W S and 19th St W. Upon arrival, Police located a 12 year old male being restrained by adults after he had gone to a residence and deployed bear spray. A 12 year old female, 35 year old female and 36 year old male were suffering the effects of bear spray but did not require Medavie Health Services. It was also learned that a young toddler may have been exposed to the bear spray as well but officers were unable to speak with the family as they had left prior to police arrival.

The 12 year old male is facing charges including breach of undertaking, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, and 9 warrants of arrest for various offences. He will be attending court in the morning.

The victims and suspect are unknown to each other.
